Refugee Stuff: RECEPTION AND PLACEMENT (R&P) PROGRAM AGENCIES FY 2009

For those who are interested, the responsibility for resettling and taking care of recently provided refugees in the United States is done by ten non-governmental organizations, who must follow the guidelines of and receive payment from the United States State Department. The payment is really not that much and the costs must be subsidized through donations to get the job done right. The local agencies must follow guidelines set by both the federal government as well as their federal office.

Here's a list of the ten not-for-profits that perform these services. The list was provided to me by the state department in January 2009.
